Established in 1985, the orchidPhile specializes in cutting-edge Phalaenopsis breeding with a focus on the more unique, colorful and often fragrant compact growing waxy novelties and the amazingly floriferous multi-floral miniatures. As a result of our annual trips to Taiwan, we are able to obtain many Phalaenopsis species and hybrids that would otherwise never be available in the US.
In addition to Phalaenopsis, we also carry the miniature varieties of many other genera, including Cattleyas, Dendrobiums and Vandaceous, which grow and flower easily under the same low light and warm temperature conditions as our Phalaenopsis.
Although we don't maintain a retail business location at our nursery in CT, you can readily find us exhibiting and selling at many orchid shows and events in the Northeast. We always send out an informative Pre-Order List (complete with pictures, descriptions and prices) prior to many of our shows so please contact us at email@example.com if you’d like to be added to our e-mail list.
Wishes for a Happy & Safe 4thof July to everyone !
As promised, attached is our Pre-Order List with some great new listings added in honor of our upcoming 23rdIPA Symposium in Philadelphia in less than two weeks. For those planning to join us at the Symposium, a Pre-Order always assures you won’t be disappointed. And for those who are unable to make this meeting, we will again be filling mail orders beginning the week of July 17th.
If you’d like to pick up your Pre-Order at the Symposium, please contact us by July 12that the latest so we can pull & set aside your order. We can also bring orders for you to pick up to bring back to your friends who might be unable to join us this year, thus saving them the additional packing & shipping expense of a mail order ~ they would just have to e-mail us with their order & then call us with their credit card info. Their plants would be tagged & set aside for you to pick up for them at the Symposium.
As a special note and due to several requests for this, we have added the option of a Saturday Only One-Day Symposium Registration of $75, that day to include two speakers, workshops, a great lunch followed by a super auction (with Alan Koch auctioneering!) and, of course, the sales room. Our vendors include Mainshow Orchids from Taiwan, Norman’s Orchids, Gold Country Orchids, orchidPhile, Little Brook Orchids and Kelley’s Korner Orchid Supplies. The IPA is also waiving the late registration fee for the entire 2-day event so that everyone who wishes to join us at the last minute can still register at the regular price. Since food orders have to be placed three days in advance, we will need any late registrations to be sent to Lynn Fuller by Monday, July 10th~ the following link will give you more information & the ability to Register easily right on line: http://www.phal.org/symposium.htm And for those of you who are planning to drive to & from the hotel each day, we’ve arranged for free parking upon presentation at the front desk of your Registration name badge.
We look forward to a great Symposium & to seeing many of you there !
Flora Peculia is dedicated to the promotion of Neofinetia falcata and Japanese orchids in Canada and around the world. The goal is to search out, bring for sale and grow species of Japanese orchids, including Neofinetia falcata, Sedirea japonica, Dendrobium moniliforme and Japanese Cymbidium goeringii. We have over 100 varieties, all grown and presented in the traditional Japanese way.
For the beginner reading this, Neofinetia falcata is a culture unto itself in Japan. This one species has over 2300 varieties listed as well as having an entire society devoted to its culture. In a nutshell, the species comes in a variety of forms including flower colour and shape, marginal, stripe and tiger variegation and bean leaf varieties that can be very super-mini. The bean leaf varieties come in fascinating shapes and growth patterns. Fukiran is appreciated for the plant and desirable by many collectors who appreciate the plant itself even if there are no blooms.
The name Fukiran is used by the Japanese for the varieties of Neofinetia falcata and literally means ‘rich noble orchid’. The cultivation has a long history originating in the Edo era of japan (400 years ago) It is my goal to help you to continue the rich tradition of Fukiran growing.. These plants are truly different from any other orchid as each has its own character even within the same variety.

Humidity Tray for Bonsai , Orchids, Other Plants
Several people have been asking us what ever happen to the brown humidity trays? The manufacturer Beta Craft decided to stop producing the brown color trays and only carry the black color trays moving forward. I was inform that someday they might bring it back but with the rising cost of plastic material they will only produce the black color trays for the time being.
Good news is we still have a few HT-102 in stock but supply is limited.
HT-102 H-2 1/4" x L-26" x W-10 1/2"
Bonsai or Orchid Drip Tray
Made from rigid polystyrene, since most plant pots have holes in the bottom for drainage, the humidity / drip tray will protect the surface of whatever you are putting the plant on.
You should leave a little water in the tray all the time so that as the water in the tray evaporates, it will create a constant humid environment for the plant and help offset the loss of the loss of moisture through the leaves.
Instead of taking the plant to the sink to water it, you can simply water the plant in place. When watering in this way, pour water on top of the plant pot base slowly until it penetrates the media and the excess water comes out of the holes in the bottom of the pot.
Limited quantity when its gone they are gone!

Mathilde Duffy, a botanical illustrator and nature photographer, combines her love of orchids, succulents, wildflowers, animals, and seashells with a wry sense of humor to create unusual cards that more often get framed than mailed. Her artwork is represented in corporate and private collections nationally and internationally.
She has accepted many drawing commissions of unusual orchids, painted portraits of people and animals, illustrated medical reports for a pathologist, drawn seashells for many museums, books, and scientific journals, illustrated for archaeologists, developed an extensive line of nature note cards, and taught art classes and workshops for colored pencil drawing.
Mathilde has exhibited at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, Bermuda Arts Centre, North Carolina Maritime Museum, Vermont Institute of Natural Science, North Museum of Science and Natural History, National Wildlife Federation, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Boston Athenaeum, many New England flower shows, and other museums and galleries nationwide.
Drawings of your prized orchids can be commissioned, and cards created with flowers of your choice. Stop by her table at the show to select colorful bookmarks, cards, or framed prints.

The herbal approach has been a life-long study for me, and I have crossed the Atlantic Ocean 14 times for Europe and the Middle East, searching for the Apothecary Origios. Upon reading National Geographic’s Oct, 2006, The Chemicals Within, a company was born.
Solid products are always created in a certified organic olive oil base set up so there is never a tug on the skin, and preserved with Vitamin E oil. Many of the organic herbs required are grown right here in Casco, Maine in the Medieval Magic Organics Gardens. Non-GMO and long term care of the land & its inhabitants are always a part of my consideration.
I personally create 24 FDA inspected organic skin care products that make a professional marriage of the European Apothecary Traditions and Native American Healing Arts.
Face, Body, Infant, Petcare, Beneficial Fragrance and Payne Management, priced from $4.50-52.00.
Come by the booth, sample, smell and relax into the purest Facial and Body Care anywhere!

At Coldbrooke Pottery, inspiration comes from traditional styles as well as age old methods. All of our flowerpots are thrown on the wheel, one at a time. Details such as handles, stamps or coggling add a decorative element and various colors of clay complement most any plant.
For the orchid aficionado, our pots are designed with ample drainage as well as aeration holes on the sides. Pots are sized by the wet weight of the clay and stamped with that weight. This practice originated in the potteries of Great Britain before the Industrial Revolution, when all plants were grown in hand made pots. In addition to pots created for orchids, Coldbrooke Pottery makes pottery for an array of other types of plants.
When you are at the show, stop by to see what we have on hand. Your plants will look lovely in a pot from Coldbrooke Pottery!

She is the owner of the Newcomb Hollow Shop & Gallery which received the 2015 gold award for "Best Gift Shop Reader's Choice" in Cape Cod Life Magazine. She works with the finest Georgia Kaolin and hand-mixed oxides to create vibrant ceramic glazes on functional forms. “This year I have been so inspired by the colors of orchids and flowers. I have two special items I am bringing, "Blossom Yarn Bowl" for knitters, and "Budding Bracelet".” When you are at the show, stop by to see her creations!
